Insurance SaaS Backend Platform

Backend Lead

This project is relevant for clients building SaaS products or modernizing complex backends.

Overview

This project was a multi-tenant insurance sales and advisory backend platform built on ABP/ASP.NET Zero.

The system managed tenants, customers, branches, products, coverages, insurer catalogs, sales presentations, payment flows, file storage, messaging, and external calculator integrations.

What The Platform Needed

The platform needed a production-ready backend foundation for regulated insurance workflows:

The main challenge was keeping a large integration-heavy SaaS backend maintainable while supporting authentication, tenant boundaries, external systems, and operational visibility.

  • Multi-tenancy and tenant-aware data
  • Customers, branches, products, coverages, and presentations
  • Insurer calculator integrations
  • Payment provider integrations
  • Cloud file storage
  • Messaging and notifications
  • JWT authentication and refresh tokens
  • Permissions, features, editions, and auditing
  • Background synchronization jobs
  • Docker/Kubernetes deployment workflows

My Backend Work

I led backend work across ABP application services, EF Core persistence, PostgreSQL, DTO mapping, authorization, integrations, background workers, and deployment workflows.

Key work included:

  • ABP/ASP.NET Zero modular backend development
  • Multi-tenant application services
  • PostgreSQL persistence with EF Core migrations
  • Audited entities and soft-delete behavior
  • JWT authentication, refresh tokens, 2FA, captcha, impersonation, and delegation support
  • Refit/Polly integrations with insurer and external APIs
  • Stripe/PayPal payment integration surfaces
  • S3/Azure storage abstractions
  • Background workers for external data synchronization
  • Serilog/Loki observability and health checks
  • Docker/Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD delivery support

Technical Highlights

  • Backend stack: ASP.NET Core, ABP/ASP.NET Zero, EF Core, PostgreSQL
  • Architecture: modular layering, app services, repositories, unit of work, DTO mapping
  • Security: JWT, refresh tokens, 2FA, captcha, permissions, impersonation
  • Integrations: insurer APIs, payment providers, cloud storage, messaging
  • Operations: background workers, health checks, Serilog/Loki, Docker/Kubernetes

Why This Project Is Relevant

This project is relevant for clients building SaaS products or modernizing complex backends.

It is useful for clients who need:

It shows experience working inside a full production platform rather than an isolated API or small feature.

  • Multi-tenant SaaS development
  • ABP/ASP.NET Zero expertise
  • ASP.NET Core backend development
  • PostgreSQL and EF Core
  • API integrations
  • Payments and storage integration
  • Background sync workers
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Docker/Kubernetes deployment
